New Market Rebels Assistant Coach Maynard “Mo” Weber Honored by the Valley Baseball League

NEW MARKET, VA, May 5, 2008 – “Mo” Weber (84), Assistant Coach and Hitting Instructor of the New Market Rebels Baseball team was honored by David M. Biery, President of the Valley Baseball League at the annual dinner meeting of the Shenandoah Valley Grandstand Managers Club of New Market on May 2, 2008.

Biery announced that the Valley Baseball League has created the “Maynard “Mo” Weber Coach of the Year Award” to be given annually to the League’s Most Valuable Coach at the conclusion of each future Valley Baseball League season and presented “Mo” Weber with a plaque with the proclamation:

A VALLEY BASEBALL LEAGUE
PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS,     no summer in the Shenandoah Valley shall pass
                       without its own brand of the “national pastime”
                       known as Valley Baseball League; and

WHEREAS the game promotes teamwork, sportsmanship fair
play and honor in student athletes; and

WHEREAS the communities in the Shenandoah Valley so very
much look forward to the game's annual return; and

WHEREAS recognition needs to be made to the longest standing
first base coach in the Valley Baseball League; and

WHEREAS his lessons taught and lessons learned must be fully
recognized; and

WHEREAS his good citizenship and humor are acknowledged
throughout the collegiate baseball community; and

WHEREAS he has never met anyone he didn't like here in
Indiana;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Directors of the Valley Baseball
League hereby proclaim May 2, 2008 as Maynard “Mo” Weber Day
throughout the Shenandoah Valley Baseball Community.

And further does authorize the establishment of the “Maynard
“Mo” Weber Coach of the Year Award” to be given annually to the
Leagues' Most Valuable Coach at the conclusion of each future Valley
Baseball League season.

By unanimous vote of the Board on this 17th day of April 2008.
